Two case types, one investigator

Courts call Bob in for one kind of dog. Families call him for another. Both draw on the same forty-four years of reading what a dog is about to do.

Exhibit A — Dangerous Dog Training

Superior Court K-9 Expert

In 1986, as Chairman of the Board for the Orange County K-9 Behaviorists, Bob helped write California's Dangerous Dog Laws. He became the state's Superior Court K-9 expert, tested across 45 counties in Southern California, and called into three murder trials.

  • Wrote the framework behind California's Dangerous Dog Laws
  • 47 successful trials, including three murder trials
  • Rehabilitated over 1,000 aggressive and dangerous dogs
  • Retained by district attorneys and public defenders, 1985–2017
Exhibit B — Psychiatric Service Dogs

A method born from one boy

A close friend's son had autism and had been suspended from school. Bob trained the family dog to work with him — and it worked. Mainstream obedience training didn't translate, so he built a system made specifically for psychiatric and neurological need.

  • Created the Psychiatric Service Dog training method
  • Extended it to Alzheimer's, dementia, and pre-alert seizure dogs
  • Over 1,000 service dogs trained, certified, and placed
  • Consultant, California Board of Education, Developmental Disabilities Services
Closing statement

Trained dogs for 44 years straight. Never once taken to court.

Bob has never been sued or cited for the work he's done. He measures the job the same simple way: honest-hearted, and more than fair.

The file, in order

1986

Serves as Chairman of the Board for the Orange County K-9 Behaviorists and helps draft the Dangerous Dog Laws California still relies on today.

Early years

Begins training dangerous dogs full-time and is honored as California's Superior Court K-9 expert — a role he'd hold for thirty years, tested in 45 counties and called on for three murder trials.

Turning point

A close friend's son with autism is suspended from school. Bob steps in with the family dog, and the boy returns to class — the moment that starts his psychiatric service dog work.

Years that follow

Realizes off-the-shelf guide-dog methods don't fit psychiatric need. Completes postgraduate study and builds the Psychiatric Service Dog method — later extended into Alzheimer's, dementia and pre-alert seizure work.

Today

Runs in-home dog training out of Las Vegas, Nevada, still working both disciplines side by side.
